March 23 2020 - Cobblestones Museum is currently closed until further notice due to the Covid-19 situation.
Step back in time at Cobblestones, a charming historic village and museum set back from the main street of Greytown.
While your there be sure to check out their new exhibition GREYTOWN: 38 Sections, 38 Stories featuring a three metre scale model of the town as it was at the end of WWI.
At Cobblestones you can sit at a desk in a country schoolhouse, explore Wairarapa's first public hospital, and climb the stairs to the tiny bedroom in the colonial cottage. There's a church, printing press and wool shed, too. If you come in summer, you might catch one of Cobblestones' fun fetes and craft markets - set in the pretty village gardens.
Horse-drawn vehicles are a highlight here - this is the original site of the stables for the Cobb & Co coaches that took mail and passengers on the rugged Wellington-Wairarapa route from 1866.
Also check out the museum shop at Cobblestones Museum for neat and quirky games, gifts, books and toys.
Before you leave, pop in to delectable Schoc Chocolates; - it's right on site, and it's a Greytown must-do!
