The Carterton Golf Course is everything that springs to mind when you think of a Wairarapa country golfing escape; magnificent Tararua Range backdrop, quiet, peaceful, never crowded and with friendly locals. And for a point of difference, they also have FootGolf!
Established in 1911, the course is an 18 hole, 5,612 metre Par 71 challenge presenting any golfer with a demanding test of golf in picturesque surroundings. A unique feature is an intriguing pair of par 3s, set in a grove of mature totara, which offer endless challenge to all golfers.
9-hole FootGolf course
FootGolf is played like golf but all you need is a soccer ball each. You kick the ball from tee to hole, counting your kicks (shots) along the way. As you'd expect, the one with the lowest score after 9 holes is the winner.
FootGolf is more challenging than you think – you need to control the length and direction of your shots, just like golf, but anyone can understand how it works and have fun trying.
Bring your own ball or hire one at the club.
Just 15 minutes from Masterton, the Carterton Golf Club welcomes green fee players.
