Try Wharekauhau Country Estate's 'Trust the Chef' lunch, available Friday, Saturday and Sunday for a 5 course degustation-style tasting menu (with options for main course) showcasing local food. After lunch stroll the expansive gardens, or relax by an open fire. Wharekauhau Country Estate is a 45 minute drive from Featherston down Western Lake Road. 

Lake Ferry Hotel's fish and chips are the best in the region - but that's not all that's on offer. The extensive menu includes ocean-fresh seafood, top Martinborough wines, and views from the garden bar of Ocean Beach across Lake Onoke.  It's only 45 minutes from Martinborough or Featherston.
