Wairarapa Must Do's

There are some things you just have to do when you visit Wairarapa! Here are our top picks:

Pukaha National Wildlife Centre - Check out Manukura the white kiwi, see tuatara and long-fin eels, explore the walk-through aviary or take a guided tour or cultural tour.

Martinborough - a working wine village surrounded by small vineyards and plenty of cellar doors.  The vineyards are so close you can hire a bike, grab a map and Cycle the Vines.

Have fun with your family in Masterton - Queen Elizabeth Park has an amazing playground with miniature train, pedal boats and mini golf.

Cape Palliser - the southern most point of the North Island. You'll see seals, Lake FerryNgawi fishing village and the lighthouse, or walk into the spectacular Pinnacles.

Castlepoint - great for swimming, fishing, walks and family fun. So much more than a lighthouse!

Take a tour at Tui Brewery -  home to all things Tui. You'll eat and drink very well here! 

Experience Wairarapa's amazing Dark Sky at Star Field observatory complex, take an astronomy tour with Under the Stars, or visit Stonehenge Aotearoa for a full-scale adaptation of Stonehenge.
